After three days in Stanley taking lots of images, I had made a commitment to my wife that I would put the camera away starting the next morning. Well, when we pulled up into the parking lot of Redfish Lodge before sunrise to have breakfast that morning, this is what I saw! Wow! I had to do some fast talking ..... "just one more shot and then I'll put it away!" After some negotiation, I ran to the car, grabbed the camera and sprinted down the shore line to an old stump! Set the camera up on my wallet in order to raise the lens to compose the picture, and finally got the shot! I almost missed the best light of the entire trip! This image is the result!
I won't tell you how much this one image cost me........! :)

on October 9, 2019I love the fog rising from the water and the early morning colors. And that crazy little swirly cloud is the icing on the cake for this magnificent image. I'm so glad that your wife said "one more" but I hear you about how much that one more can cost you. LOL Oftentimes Bill mentions that he wishes I'd not spend so much time processing photos from a trip and come do something for him. Like selling his stuff on eBay. :-) He has enough stuff for me to sell for the rest of my life. But the cost? Two weeks doing eBay stuff. I don't mind once I get into it, but after a week or so I get bored and want to do something else. LOL He's a good man, so we work it out.

on October 9, 2019I know exactly what you went through to get the shot. Wives or husbands who are not photographers have no idea what "great light" is, what "the Moment" means. I bet when Nancy sees the photo she would understand what you were trying to accomplish.
