Eastern Gray Squirrel carrying her baby!
As I was taking images of an Owl at Brazos Bend State Park, I heard the sounds of a squirrel coming down a tree. As I looked over, this mother squirrel was carrying her baby from one oak tree to another about 30 yards away. She slid down inside a hollow tree trunk which I'm assuming was her alternate nest site. I don't think she liked the presence of the owl I was photographing near her nest. I watched as she took one after the other to the neighboring tree!
